Hopsewee, a South
Carolina's National Historic Landmark,
is a preservation rather than a restoration
and has never been allowed to fall
into decay as it has always been cherished.
0nly five families have owned it,
although it was built almost 40 years
before the Revolutionary War.
Enjoy a guided
tour of the Plantation House from
Attic to Cellar. Tours are on the
hour beginning at 10:00 with the last
tour beginning at 4:00. On Saturdays
we begin at 12:00.
The River Oak Cottage offers our Southern
Tea with Savories Scones and Sweets
and a selection of 16 different teas.
Or enjoy our lunch specials with our
traditional southern family favorites.
Hopsewee is located
immediately off of Highway 17 about
halfway between Myrtle Beach and Charleston,
SC. Visit our house and grounds, 10
am to 4 pm Tuesday - Friday and 12
to 4 pm Saturday February through
November and by appointment December
